Starting the Dymax oven for the first time:
- Turn on the power at the back of the power supply.
- Turn on the power at the front of the cabinet.
- Start the lamp by pressing the button at the front right of the power supply.
- If the light does not turn on:
- Ensure the ‘nub’ on the lamp faces toward the reflector.
- Ensure the lamp is fully seated in the socket, using moderate force on the new equipment.
The lamp usually starts in less than 30 seconds, but may take up to 90 seconds for a new system.
Be sure your part is completely dry before curing.
- Put on a new pair of gloves.
- Your gloves will be soiled from washing your part.
- Place the part on a tray or foil and transfer it to the oven so the part is centered under the lamp.
- Close the door.
- On the top of the oven, set the TIMER for the duration given in the resin-specific protocols.
- Push ACTUATE to turn on the lamp and start the oven.
- Cool the part per resin-specific protocols.
- Dymax ovens generate heat, so curing should only happen in short doses to prevent part deformation.
- Cool the part for as long as you cure it. For example, if you are curing in 15 second intervals, let the part cool for 15 seconds in between each dose of light. This reduces the chance of part deformation due to warping.
- Rotate the part and repeat until all surfaces have received UV light.
Do not overexpose. Too much UV light will cause the part to be brittle in the Dymax oven due to heat.
