Notices

  • Never squirt solvent directly on the underside of the cassette, as it will cause immediate, permanent cassette damage.

Additional Safety Features

Site Prep

Sufficient ventilation is required during operation of the printer. The complete site prep requirements can be found below:

Emergency Stop

The printer has an E-stop button to be used in case of an emergency. Pressing the E-stop button vents the pneumatic system and cuts power to the motors and heaters, immediately stopping all printer activity. Only the computer within the printer remains powered.

Safety Interlocks

The printer door must be closed before the platform can move or the printing process can begin. Forcing open the printer door causes the platform to stop. The door must also be closed for the platform to travel to the home height and lock in place.

Printing cannot start or continue if the cassette and platform become unlocked.

The heating system can only run during printing, and printing will abort if the maximum allowable temperature is surpassed.

Spill Reservoir

A resin reservoir is located under the front of the deck. It serves as an overflow for large resin spills onto the deck. The projection volume (deck opening below the cassette) is not connected to the spill reservoir, so any spill into the projection volume does not flow into the spill reservoir and must be addressed immediately. For detailed instructions on cleaning a deck spill, refer to the Maintenance page.
