Perform these maintenance actions every year:






Pneumatic Inlet Filter

Compressed air is essential to the printer's operation to clamp down the cassette and platform as well as operating the tracks that lift the platform up and down.

Pneumatic filters prevent ambient moisture and oil from the air compressor getting into the printer's system. The filter should be replaced annually to keep the printer's pneumatic system operating efficiently.

Locate the Pneumatic Inlet Filter

The filter is located on the left-hand printer frame, about one third down between the deck and floor.

Serviceable parts are denoted with an orange sticker.



Pneumatic Inlet Moisture Check

If water is visible in the clear cylinder, drain before proceeding. Follow instructions from Quarterly maintenance above.



  • Ensure that the clear cylinder contains no water.
    • If water is present, drain before proceeding.
  1. Unscrew clear cylinder
  2. Remove o-ring
  3. Wipe cylinder clean and dry with a blue shop towel
  4. Twist to remove black filter cap
  5. Wipe cap clean and dry with a blue shop towel
  6. Pull white filter down to remove
  7. Push new filter up over black assembly
  8. Reattach black filter cap
  9. Attach new o-ring
  10. Reattach clear cylinder tightly


Troubleshooting Pneumatic Inlet Filter

If air hissing is heard and/or there are any alerts displayed on the printer screen related to pneumatic system pressure, check that all serviced components are tightly back in place.

If the clear cylinder is damaged and leaking air, the part can be replaced. Contact Carbon Support for details.
