New Features

Boundary fence with patch-based supports

There is now an additional option for you to add a fence around the patch you have selected. You can set the margin, the distance from the border of the patch, for where the fence will generate. You can also choose to fill the patch with bar supports, fence supports, or leave the patch empty with no supports.

Orientation and translation improvements

Orientation

You can now click and drag along x, y, and z rings to rotate a part around a single axis. To rotate at 45° increments, hold shift while dragging. You may still click on the part to rotate freely in any direction.

Translation

You can lock onto the x or y axis to translate your part by clicking and dragging the axis handles. You may still click on the part to move it freely in any direction.

Release film indicator on printer screen

If the “Print with release film” box had been selected for a print, there will now be an indication on the printer screen that release film needs to be applied to the platform prior to starting the print.

Printer name and serial number on the printer screen

We have made a small change to the display of your printer’s name and serial number on the top left of your printer’s screen. The static printer serial number will now come first, followed by the printer name.

A reminder, you can label a part with the printer’s serial number using the token {printer_serial} in the Part labels tool.

Unique identifier for new prints

In this release, we have made a change to print IDs, which allows you to uniquely identify your prints across printers. You’ll notice changes to the structure of your new print URLs. New prints going forward will have a new URL structure (ie: .../prints/JJ284567).

Prints completed prior to the printer being updated to 1.24 will not be affected by this change. You can still access them using the original URL structure (ie: .../prints/7370-1).

We plan to eventually deprecate the usage of {print_serial} as a token for embossing and engraving in the Part labels tool. Moving forward, to place a unique print identifier onto your parts, please use the new token, {print_uuid}.

Company-wide preferences

Admin users can now set and maintain project preferences across their whole company. To access company project preferences, select Admin | Company Project Settings.

Your users will need to set their preferences to use the Company Preferences by clicking on their username, then Project Settings, and check “Use company project settings.”
