## Model not adhering to platform

**Check Support position**

Check the Printer UI to ensure your parts were supported **Above Platform,** and that the proper support SOP was followed:

- [KeyPrint KeySplint Hard and Hard Clear](docId\:oMBYMp5dsFTApFdsGDYzG)&#x20;
- [KeyPrint KeySplint Soft Clear](docId\:X2gB7ZIbmYyRh2F5wCdjs)&#x20;

**Solvent check**

Check that you are cleaning platforms with the **correct solvents** (99.5% IPA or acetone). Incorrect cleaning prevents the next print from adhering well.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
**Expired resin**

Check the **expiration sticker** on your resin bottle to ensure your resin is not past its expiration date. If it is, dispose of the resin and print again with a non-expired bottle.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
**Check alignment**

If you are still experiencing issues with parts consistently falling off the platform, your printer may be **out of alignment.**&#x20;

As a very basic test, you can run an an [Alignment Squares Test](docId\:eneYDJvgK9I1zhog5jjJE) or a [Z-stroke calibration test print](docId\:eneYDJvgK9I1zhog5jjJE)  to see if there are any large issues with your printer's alignment.&#x20;

The **alignment test print** is more appropriate when adhesion is observed to vary across the build plane.

The **Z-stroke calibration test print&#x20;**&#x73;hows adhesion is uniformly poor across the build plane. &#x20;

- &#x20;[Alignments Squares Test](docId\:eneYDJvgK9I1zhog5jjJE)&#x20;
- &#x20;[Z-Stroke Test](docId\:eneYDJvgK9I1zhog5jjJE)&#x20;

Please send the results to [Carbon Support](docId\:K86Zo5vcyN_wqJL3vdGFt) to determine if alignment may be contributing to the print failures.

**Check supports**

Check the Printer UI to ensure your parts were supported according to the guidance:

- [KeyPrint KeySplint Hard and Hard Clear](docId\:oMBYMp5dsFTApFdsGDYzG)&#x20;
- [KeyPrint KeySplint Soft Clear](docId\:X2gB7ZIbmYyRh2F5wCdjs)&#x20;

**Check the design**

Check the design settings in your CAD software. &#x20;

:::hint{type="info"}
Carbon advises against a thickness below **1.5 mm** as print challenges may arise, and recommends adjusting the offset and retention values to achieve your desired fit.
:::

Please contact [Carbon Support](docId\:K86Zo5vcyN_wqJL3vdGFt) with a hardware error.

**Check washing process**

Ensure that you are following the correct cleaning guidance by checking the manufacturer IFU or protocol.

In particular, check that:

- the correct swabs were used; and
- enough swabbing was done to clean the parts thoroughly.

:::hint{type="info"}
This does not apply to splints printed with the AO Polishing Cassette.
:::
::::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
**Check support tips**

Check to see if the support tips on your parts need to be sanded down. Tips can interfere with a model and prevent a part from fully seating.

**Check supports**

Check the Printer UI to ensure your parts were supported according to the guidance:

- [KeyPrint KeySplint Hard and Hard Clear](docId\:oMBYMp5dsFTApFdsGDYzG)&#x20;
- [KeyPrint KeySplint Soft Clear](docId\:X2gB7ZIbmYyRh2F5wCdjs)&#x20;
- [Desktop Health SmileGuard](docId\:GfGLjvBz-0_kk3PDCl-Vd)&#x20;

If the supports are attaching at a <font color="#d32f4a">**horizontal angle,**</font> they may detach during printing allowing part deformation.&#x20;

![](https://api.archbee.com/api/optimize/3CesIL2dYMCHPZvRjp8S0/e77N2N0w5vTyOdWlfaiUi_horizontal-tips01.png)

Supports should attach to the surface of the part that is facing the platform creating **vertically oriented support tips.** Please reapply the supports and move the attachment points to address this issue if this problem occurs.

Ensure that the perimeter of the splint does not come to a <font color="#d32f4a">**sharp edge,**</font> as this makes support attachment difficult. The perimeter should at least be as wide as the tips of the supports to ensure ample space for support connection.

**Check the slices**

Check the [slice video](docId\:gfR-GoC-Irq_L9_KanC-X) in the printer UI to ensure the model does not have any errors.

If errors are detected, use your 3rd party software tool to repair them.

## Parts have developed a yellow tint after curing.

::::WorkflowBlock
:::WorkflowBlockItem
**Normal yellowing**

A yellow tint is expected and normal after curing parts printed in the splint resins and should fade in **24 - 48 hours.** See the specific resin page for more information about yellowing:
