v1.32
Hello. Thank you so much for your support and engagement with our teams. Your feedback helps drive our development process and makes our products better.
In this release, we’ve included the following improvements to your print process:
- Improving consistency of parts across a build and printers
As we continue to make improvements to how we print, we are providing an option for customers who prefer that their on-printer software stay fixed. Version Lock 1.31 is a new offering entailing full software support of v1.31 (the current version of on-printer software) for 2 years, between September 2021 and September 2023. You can read more about the offering here - if you are interested, please contact your Account Manager for more details. Note that we strongly encourage opting into Version Lock 1.31 prior to upgrading to v1.32.
- Supports
- Auto Orientation BETA - on platform option
- Project setting for supports and Auto Orientation
- Ergonomic height on print completion
We can’t wait to hear from you about this release. Keep printing great parts and sharing your feedback.

As we continue to strive for more accurate and higher fidelity parts, we have made an adjustment to how we calculate the light intensity across the build plane. This will improve the accuracy and consistency of parts printed both across a build and between printers. If you are printing multiples of the same part, you may notice the overall accuracy of your parts becoming more consistent with each other. The typical accuracy change is on the order of less than 10μm.
We have made a number of improvements to both the Basic Auto and the patch support tools. This includes reducing the number of bar supports that intersect with the part. For patches specifically, the tool will also reduce the number of fence supports that intersect with the part. Additionally, we will now attempt to support all islands with bar supports. The tool will also attempt to fill the entirety of the interior of a given patch to ensure that it is sufficiently supported.
Most notably, we have increased the efficiency of the support algorithm to reduce the support generation time on most parts.
The Auto Orientation BETA tool can now recommend orientation options for your part to be printed snapped to the platform. The tool is currently in beta and is not optimized for elastomeric resins.
To learn more about the feature and general best practices on orienting to achieve a successful part, please refer to our new Orientation & Supports training module.
Help us improve the tool in the next few releases by telling us about your experience through the feedback form in the UI itself.
Please note that this tool has not been optimized or validated for dental use.
You can now choose whether “Above Platform” or “On Platform” is selected for the Auto Orientation and Supports tools within the User Project Settings page. This default will be set for both features automatically.
For better ergonomics, we are lowering the height that the platform returns to after a print finishes. For prints that exceed this height, the platform will adjust accordingly.
We love hearing from you about your workflow, your parts, and how to improve. Keep your insightful feedback and ratings coming. We read them carefully and follow up when you request that we contact you. If you prefer real-time feedback, you can always contact the Carbon Service Team, [email protected].
