## Overview

Hello. Thank you so much for your support and engagement with our teams. Your feedback helps drive our development process and makes our products better.

One important thing to note is that we expect this release to take longer than usual, **around 30 minutes**.

This release, you’ll notice these new features and fixes:

- Hole repair
  - Automatically detect and repair holes in STLs
- Additional dynamic part labels
  - Part locations
  - Filenames
- Traveler
  - Printable (2D) views of your platforms
- Supports
  - Continue editing support structures after you’ve spun a part
  - Initial optimizations for MPU 100

You’ll also see that you can download .carbon files, STLs, and see the slice video or traveler for your print (like you’ve had for projects) in Print Actions menu.

We can’t wait to hear from you about this release. Keep printing great parts and sharing your feedback. We appreciate it, and it makes our products better.

If you have any questions, please contact the Carbon Service Team at [support@carbon3d.com](mailto\:support@carbon3d.com) or Kirby at [kirby@carbon3d.com](mailto\:kirby@carbon3d.com).

## Improvements

### Hole Repair

When you upload an STL, we now check for holes in the STL. If we find any holes, we’ll show you how many we found. If it’s clear how to repair them, we’ll automatically repair them.

It’s unlikely but possible that an STL could have enough problems that we won’t repair the holes we find; we will still report the number of holes we found. For these types of files, we recommend repairing in external software before loading.

If you ever want to undo the repairs, you can revert the changes from the Part Settings dialog.

For files with very large meshes (or if you know that your uploaded file has no errors), you can always cancel the file analysis.

### Additional Dynamic Part Labels

We’ve added new types of dynamic data that you can add to your Part Labels; you can now include part names, your company name, or a part number (based on the part’s location on the platform). New tokens are:

- \{part\_name} which will display the name of each part (the STL name)
- \{customer\_name} which will display your company’s name
- \{part\_pos} which will show a unique number for each part on the platform, ordered by the part’s position on the platform, which is also the same number as you’ll see on the parts in the traveler

You can also include portions of each token. For example, for the STL named **abc\_part\_name.stl**:

- To include the first 3 digits of the part name, your token should be \{part\_name\[:3]}. You’ll see **abc** on your part.
- To exclude the file extension, your token should be \{part\_name\[:-4]}. You’ll see **abc\_part\_name** on your part.
- And, you can exclude and include, to show the last 3 digits of a part name before the file extension, your token should be \{part\_name\[-7:-4]}. You’ll see **ame** on your part.

If you need to remember how to add or remove portions of your tokens, just click on the help icon next to Add Part Label.

As a reminder, you can set defaults for Part Labels in Preferences.

### Traveler

We’ve seen, in talking to you about your workflows, that some labs and factories print out a paper ‘traveler’ to use in tracking the progress of your jobs. We’ve now made it easy to do this from the Carbon app. From your project or print, you can open a new tab with a printable view of your platform from the Project or Print menu.

If you’ve estimated your print stats, your traveler will include the estimated resin amount for your project or print.

### Edit Supports After You've Spun Them

We’ve also removed the error you used to see when you tried to edit support structures after a part is rotated in z.

### Initial Optimizations For MPU 100

We’ve updated supports (both placement and support structure parameters) to consider our new material, MPU 100. We’d love to hear about the parts you’re printing and opportunities to further optimize them.

### A Few Fixes

Print actions

We’ve added a new menu for your prints, like you have on projects. This will let you download the STL, .carbon file, and slices. Also, you can view the slice video or traveler for your print.
