Pattern uniformity on the surface may be desired for aesthetic reasons, so Design Engine allows you to **enable surface isotropy** as an advanced option, with additional processing time (approximately 5 minutes).

# About Surface Isotropy

- Isotropy looks for consistency both across a single surface and across all surfaces as a cohesive unit.
- Variation may still be present where needed for conformity, so organic shapes and curves will see some variation to maintain the structure of the lattice.
- Using the default for [Cell Size Adaptivity](docId\:UpBQxWWLjaafbScteZwEd) (ie the main cell size) will yield the most consistent results.
