The **drum pump** is an air-powered device that may be used to pump DPR 10 resin from a 55-gallon drum and dispense it into a secondary container such as a 3.2 liter DPR 10 bottle.

# Installation

## Draw Tube Installation

1\. Use a [drum plug wrench](https://www.mcmaster.com/6512A12/) to unscrew the <font color="#6752ff">**NPS threaded cap**</font> from top of 55-gallon drum of DPR 10.&#x20;

a. NPS threaded cap can be identified by the <font color="#30C49A">**larger relief area**</font> around the opening.&#x20;

b. The draw tube will not properly thread onto<font color="#d32f4a"> **.** </font>

## Pump Head Installation

1. <font color="#30C49A">**Lower the pump head onto the top of the draw tube.**</font>
2. <font color="#ff9900">**Flip up the cam locks to secure the pump head to the draw tube.**</font>

1. <font color="#30C49A">**Push compressed air line onto male pump fitting.**</font>
2. <font color="#6752ff">**Air pressure gauge should show 50 psi.**</font>
   - Carbon does not recommend higher pressure as resin can flow too quickly and lead to resin loss.&#x20;
   - Adjust regulator as necessary to change air flow.

# Operation

## Install DPR 10 Bottle

1. Make sure air valve is in the <font color="#30C49A">**off (up) position.**</font>
2. <font color="#ff9900">**Remove spigot cover.** </font>
   - A small amount of resin may run out of spigot, especially if pressure is too high.&#x20;
   - Wipe up any spilled resin before continuing.
3. Place mouth of empty DPR 10 bottle under spigot.

1. <font color="#30C49A">**Turn on air valve.** </font>
   - The pump will make quick chugging noises.&#x20;
   - As resin is drawn up through the draw tube, pump noises will slow down.&#x20;
2. Continue running pump until the bottle is filled.
   - Take care not to overfill.&#x20;
3. Remove the bottle from spigot.&#x20;
4. Wipe spigot with a shop towel.&#x20;
5. <font color="#ff9900">**Replace spigot cover.**</font>
