Click NEW PROJECT.

You can also drag your files from a file browser window and drop it on top of the NEW PROJECT icon.

Enter a new Project name.

In the Resin dropdown, select SprintRay Apex Teeth.

Toggle Auto nest dentures OFF.

Only use Encrypt project if you want to require a password to access the project.

Note: Carbon cannot provide support for encrypted projects.

Drag and drop your files into the dotted box or click Browse your files and select them in a file browser window.

Click Create.

After a few moments you will see the main printer interface with your dentures on the platform.

Orientation

For detailed information about orienting parts, read Orient.

  • Orient the teeth so that the intaglio surface is facing away from the platform.
  • Adjust the teeth so that they are mostly parallel with the platform.

Supporting

Select the Supports tab in the top bar or press Shift + S.

In the bottom bar, toggle Overhang Detection on.

Also in the bottom bar, set Toggle Platform to off.

Set Part Postion to Above.

Select the Patch  tool and determine settings.

A. Click the Patch tool.

B. Click on an area of overhang to create a patch. Additional controls will appear in the Support menu below Patch.

C. Adjust the Overhang slider.

  • For posterior teeth, the default 40 degrees is typically sufficient.
  • For anterior teeth, a higher value of 40 - 50 degrees may be needed.

D. Under Primary Support Type, select Fence. Leave Spacing at 5 mm.

D. Scroll down and make sure Boundary Fence is selected and set to 0 mm.

Support overhangs with patches.

  • Continue clicking to create patches until all overhangs are selected.
  • Click Generate to create the supporting fences.
  • Avoid adding supports to intaglio surfaces.

Check supports.

  • Make sure all overhangs are supported.
  • Delete unnecessary supports.
  • Adjust Overhang slider if necessary to create larger/smaller patches.

Slicing

Set Slice Thickness to Standard (100 µm).

Reducing the slice thickness by choosing the Fine (50 µm) or Super-fine (25 µm) settings will increase print time and may reduce part quality and accuracy.
