# Post-Processing

**Green State Handling**
Elastomeric parts are much more fragile in their green state than their fully cured final part state. Do not apply too much force to parts during processing.

![INCORRECT Green State Handling](https://res.cloudinary.com/carbon3d/image/upload/Education/Materials/elastomer/Elastomer-materials/Green-state-incorrect.png)

Excessive squeezing of parts in the green state are likely to both deform the parts and alter material properties.

![CORRECT Green State Handling](https://res.cloudinary.com/carbon3d/image/upload/Education/Materials/elastomer/Elastomer-materials/Green-state-correct.png)

Minor handling is both acceptable and inevitable in processing, but use a delicate touch to maintain part integrity as shown here.

After secondary curing (baking), parts can be squeezed without issue.

**Final Part State (After Baking)**

**Left: **permanently deformed due to squeezing in the green state

- Parts may visibly, permanently deform during the thermal cure.
- Parts may micro fracture, invisible to the naked eye, but affecting of material properties.

**Right**: no deformation due to proper handling
